Aries is the first fire sign in the zodiac, the other fire signs being Leo and Sagittarius. Individuals born between these dates, depending on which system of astrology they subscribe to, may be called Arians or Ariens. The color for Aries is red. In astrology, Aries is the Cardinal Sign of the fire trigon. It is one of the six positive signs.
Aries is the first of the four Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) of the zodiac, who all hold an elemental, initiatory energy that marks the beginning of the four seasons. Aries begins the Spring, the source of the Ram’s affinity for being a fiery starter, leader, and trailblazer.

- Aries is a midsize constellation that's not particularly luminous, with only a few stars that are easily visible to the naked eye. Aries lies along the zodiac, which is the band of constellations in the sky through which the sun, moon and stars appear to travel from the perspective of Earth.
- Along with the other classic zodiac constellations, Aries was first catalogued by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy in his Almagest in the 2nd century B. C. Every year in April and May, the sun moves through the constellation.
- Aries is an astrological sign transited by the Sun from March 21st to approximately April 20th. Its name is derived from the astronomical constellation Aries, which in Latin means "ram". The sign of Aries is associated with the myth of the Golden Fleece.

Myths[]
In Greek mythology the Golden Ram was the offspring of Poseidon and Theophane, a woman who the god had transformed into a sheep. The Golden Ram had special abilities for as well as being able to talk it could also fly. The cloud nymph Nephele would subsequently make use of the Golden Ram to rescue her children, Phrixus and Helle, when their stepmother Ino, threatened their lives. The Golden Ram would head towards Colchis, although Helle was unable to hang onto the ram, and fell to her death at the point that became known as Hellespont.
Today, the Golden Ram is best remembered after its death, for the ram told Phrixus to sacrifice its rescuer. Phrixus would then present the fleece of the ram to King Aeetes of Colchis, from which point on the Golden Fleece would become a sought after prize, and one which would see Jason and the Argonauts travel to Colchis to acquire.
