The Gigantes were the sons ocuf Gaia and Tartarus.  Supposedly  there were one-hundred of them.  Unfortunately not all are listed in the writings of the Ancient Poets which means identifying the particular Gigante is left to pottery and sculpture many of which have been damaged or faded.  This means that identifying the Gigantes often is done by looking at who they were fighting  for example Klytius had his head set on fire by triple goddess Hekate using her tourches seeing an unidentified Gigante fighting someone who is holding tourches is most likely the battle between Klytius & Hekate however in some depictions Demeter is who is usually seen holding a spear or sword has been shown armed with tourches of her own which she used on Erysichthon as depicted on the Pergamon Altar.  Many other Gigantes are however just shown slain and are unidentifiable.
