Euander-Pallene

Evander of Pallene is the son of an Arcadian Naiad who was the mother of Evander by Hermes.  Sixty years before the Trojan War Evander traveled from Arkadia, Greece where he traveled to what is now part of modern-day Italy.  He founded the city of Pallantium on what would be the future sight of Rome.  Evander also introduced the Greek Pantheon, the alphabet and laws.  Furthermore, Evander instituted the festival of the Lupercalia.  When he died,  Evander was constructed to him on the Aventine Hill.
