The Ketea Inidkoi were sea monsters who occupied the Indian Ocean. They were similar to mermaids in that they had the rear parts of serpentine animals namely those of fish. Unlike Mermaids who had human foreparts, the Ketea Indikoi had heads and front parts of various wild animals. The best depiction comes from a manuscript page in Der Naturen Bloeme. The best description however is by Aelian in "On Animals." For more information visit The Theoi Project. ( )
