Drinking bowl, Theseus plunges Sciron into the sea, from Vulci (Italy), attributed to the painter Douris, around 480 BC, Altes Museum Berlin (13718490173)

An Isthmian outlaw, Skeiron was the son of either Pelops or Poseidon. He lived at the Skeironian Rocks, a cliff on the Saronic coast of the Isthmus of Korinth. Skeiron robbed travelers passing the Skeironian Rocks and forced them to wash his feet. When they knelt before him, he kicked them over the cliff into the sea, where they were eaten by a monstrous sea turtle. Theseus killed him in the same way, by pushing him off the cliff.
